Sydney Born + Raised
Born and raised in Sydney, we were both raised in single parent households where our mothers modelled resilience, forgiveness, fortitude and permission for a personal resurgence after deep and challenging personal crisis.
We saw this resurgence and come back happen over and over again as they needed to reinvent themselves personally and professionally.
Travel Was In Our Veins
By nature, Australia was home, however we both as teenagers and young adults loved travel. From exchange programs as highschoolers, to travel to see family in the USA and Europe, we have always longed to experience people and cultures in other countries.
Andrew is all about the places to see!
Vanessa is all about the people to see!
Met + Married in Ten Months
Our dating was an encounter of love at first date (once Vanessa convinced Andrew he really needed to take her out on a date!). We got engaged 8 months into our dating relationship and got married 8 weeks later. This type of radical decision-making has formed much of our lives. Our philosophy on waiting until we had money or had finished our studies was not in our plans. You do all these things 'on the journey'.
Our Move With A Six Day Old
We knew we were both pioneers. In those months dating we would dream about where in the world we desired to live, the impact we wanted to make in people's lives and the plans we had of holistic environments to help people body, soul and spirit.
With this dream in our heart, we left Sydney and drove away with a 16 month old daughter and 6 day old second daughter to pioneer a contemporary style of church on the Gold Coast, Australia.
The Decade Of Daughters + Unsustainable` Success
Our thirties were spent on the Gold Coast, we planted churches across the Coast and into Bali, Indonesia, Chicago USA and had teams prepared for Prague and Hawaii. The pioneering spirit attracted people in all spheres of life to this work. We were especially passionate about people living influential lives in business, in the arts, in sports and in education.
Whilst raising our daughters, in a season of explosive growth, we learnt alot about our leadership limitations and our strengths.
You can have it all, just not all at once!
Now It Was Our Turn To Move
In 2014, after ten years on the Gold Coast, a dormant dream was reawakened to relocate to Montreal, French speaking Canada and pioneer again. It was a key time to make this decision as the girls were just about to hit highschool.
We moved our family across the other side of the world and a team of 12 people joined us on the journey.
This was the beginning of a decade of redefining success. We went all in. Financially, emotionally, spiritually, relationally. We left everything and everyone we knew and we parachuted into a city where we did not know anyone and the adventure begun!
Montreal - To Reawaken
Montreal was 7 years of re-learning new ways to lead. It was a gift and grew us again as pioneers.
Our daughters all became bi-lingual, Andrew completed his MBA in Entrepreneurship, his Giant Leadership Certification, we planted two churches across the city and we made the best of friends.
We also led our organisation through a pandemic. The great reset for everyone. It was in this season Vanessa certified as a Natural Therapist Practitioner and reawakened her dream to holistically coach leaders around the world.
This is where the word RESURGENCE took on a life of it's own.
Florida USA - To Reinvent
The next shift for us was to St Augustine, Florida Where we thought we were there to pioneer again, we were actually there for one year to rest, reset and relaunch.
It was here that we experienced a reawakening around the second half of our life.
We dug deep into our coaching relationships to process what does the second half of our life look like. The dreamer awakened in us. With those dreams came a crucial and intentional step of reinvention. During this reinvention we asked what was most important to us.
We took control of our health and wellness and we made life-changing decisions to prioritise family back in Australia.
Australia- To Relaunch
The relocation back to Australia with our four daughters to be nearer to extended family has, by far, been our most impactful move. It has cost us everything, and opened up new doors of opportunity we had dreamt of for years. Whilst the move is right and true, we are also releasing our daughters into their own future with roots and wings.
As a family we all feel this invitation to another RESURGENCE.
